“To penetrate into Italy is like a most fascinating act of self-discovery—back, back down the old ways of time.

Strange and wonderful chords awake in us, and vibrate again after many hundreds of years of complete forgetfulness.”

—-D.H. Lawrence

I invite you to join me at the beautiful La Feniche, a Bed and Breakfast sweetly nestled just outside of the busy area of Positano. Surrounded by lush vegetation, La Fenice represents the “Old Positano,” away from the bustling town allowing one to embrace the beautiful solitude of nature. A few minutes of walking will bring you into the central most part of the town.

“The spectacular Amalfi coast offers a wide variety of accommodation, yet few as special as La Fenice—as fantastic as the mythological bird for which it is named. Guests leave their cars on the main road and climb the arbored steps to discover the white villa hidden amid lush Mediterranean vegetation. Costantino and Angela heartily welcome new arrivals on the shady front terrace, where a basic continental breakfast is served each clement morning. Seven luminous bedrooms, three with terrace and marvelous sea views, the others with lateral sea or no sea view, are simply and sparsely furnished with an occasional antique armoire or bureau in a wing off the family’s home. Eight more rooms of varying dimensions, most with terraces, reached by many steps down from the road, are built separately into the side of the cliff and have colorful, tiled floors and similar furnishings. Descending yet more steps, you’ll come to the curved seawater pool and Jacuzzi carved against the rock”  ~ from Karen Brown’s World of Travel

We will explore the glorious coast by boat with Alberto, exploring coves, hidden beaches and the secret history of this gorgeous part of Italy complete with swims into grottos.

We will explore “The Path of The Gods”- the area of the Lattari mountains that unwinds in the silence of the mountainous calm, with scenery of haunting panoramas, meandering trails through places of incomparable beauty, rich with history and culture, where we will have a picnic lunch cradled between the sea and sky.

Breakfasts will be on a terrace overlooking the dazzling Mediterranean while Nightly dinners will take place at the cozy Valle Dei Mulini beneath lemon trees known for having the best pizza in town.

Come, join Sabrina and her dear local pals Jenny and Alberto for five true days where liberation, love and laughter will reign.

“Ah, not to be cut off, not through the slightest partition shut out from the law of the stars.

 The inner~ what is it?

If not intensified sky, hurled through with birds and deep with the winds of home coming.”

~Rilke

“This past weekend, I attended an amazing Sabrina Ward Harrison True Living Project art journaling workshop in Seattle, hosted by Angela Ritchie Ace Camps. I’ve wanted to do something like this for many years, and my first art workshop certainly exceeded my expectations (and trust me when I say I knew in advance I’d have a wonderful time traveling to Seattle to spend a weekend creating). It was amazing being surrounded with a group of kind, genuine, and interesting women who seem to share a love for so many of the things I appreciate: seeing beauty everywhere, having large and random collections of art supplies, thrift store shopping, Polaroid cameras. This has done so much to renew my spirit, in ways I can’t even put into words right now. Tomorrow, I head back to class where I’ll be learning more about the nature of JavaScript code- but tonight, I will continue savoring the memory of poetry, pink blossoms, and paint on my hands.”

Come, allow yourself to embrace the most magical places in the world, and experience discriptionless liberation!

MEET OUR HOSTS

Sabrina, Jenny and Alberto

jenny_sm_226

Jenny, wanting a life of adventure has traveled the world in pursuit of cafes in need of visits of 3 hours or more and environments that cultivate creativity. Her quest led her to Positano in September of 2006 where she met Alberto, a local of Positano. After studying theatre in DC and NY and pursuing film and theatre in NYC, Jenny moved to Italy desiring to invite others to the coast that wildly inspires her.

alberto_sm_200

Alberto, born and raised in positano, studied Urban Anthropology at the University of Milan but continuously found himself being pulled back into hospitality due to his love of people. His desire to expose others to the beauty and authenticity of the lives of locals and reveal the hidden treasures within the Amalfi Coast prompted him to open PGS in the spring of 2010.

Together, as Alberto’s zest for life paralelled Jenny’s, they have a deep desire to give artists a place to feel safe and open where they can fearlessely create.

sabrina_sm_226

Creative pioneer, Sabrina Ward Harrison has been sharing her life through a vivid interplay of artwork, photography, writing and video. Sabrina’s authentic approach to life and art has encouraged people all over the world to come from a place of honest expression and what Sabrina likes to call…True Living.

There is a tribute to spirit that Harrison reveres; her work allows a place a place to unfold, a place to build. As you observe her work, time moves with you, although a moment captured, the movement of time is palpable.

What she is most interested in is championing the concept of each person finding a way to become oneself. No matter how oneself is viewed by others, and no matter how oneself compares to others.
